Dear members of the community and Colonel By supporters

Over the last year, your community association has been fighting hard to keep Colonel By in the neighbourhood. Through a successful "Colonel by Counts" campaign we were able to present delegations and fill auditoriums with supporters to help show the (OCDSB) Ottawa Carleton District School Board staff how important this school is to our community.

In the coming days you will hear of an OCDSB staff report recommendation that Rideau High School be closed. We are still far from the end of our battle, keeping in mind this is an OCDSB staff recommendation only, and the ultimate decision is made by 12 trustees on December 15th.

On Thursday October 8th 2009, the OCDSB will be presenting this report suggesting that Rideau High School close to trustees at a board meeting. This meeting is a public meeting and people can attend as silent observers. Wearing your buttons and carrying your posters you show your support for the school board decision.  I will be there with buttons and posters in hand if you require one. (Information below) 

As we enter the home stretch  in the weeks leading up to the December 15th final decision, we really need your support. We hope to see you at our BHNCA AGM (Annual General Meeting) Thursday October 15th @ 7pm when we will be announcing our final phase of the "Colonel by Counts" campaign as well as many other issues that have a impact on our community.
