24 bus route to stay! ; Public BHNCA outcry saves route

You may remember on April 20th 2009 we first alerted you to the possibility of the 24 bus route being cancelled as part of the current transit plan. OC Transpo only left a FIVE day period to respond which required urgent action. A bulletin was emailed to the Beacon Hill North Community and you all responded. A flurry of emails and comments were sent to OC Transpo's head office stressing the importance of the route 24.

Recently I was informed by OC Transpo that the proposed 24 route cancellation was removed from the transit plan changes as a result of community feedback.

Special thanks to Andréanne Baribeau of the East Ottawa Star for bringing the story to the residents attention (click here to read), residents for helping spread the word, and others for helping to inform the bus riding population. This could have easily gone unnoticed until it was too late to act upon.
