On April 1st 2009, hundreds of people started streaming into the cafetorium for what would be sure to be a rally far exceeding expectations.

"It is clear that Colonel By is near and dear to us all, and we are not about to go down without a fight !" Said Tim Tierney, President of the Beaconhill North community association.

Tierney then told the crowd "Don't mess with success" which drove the crowd to loud applause.

As the night progressed, the results of a survey were released showed very clearly that parents objected to changing schools.

81% of the respondents to the question “would you consider moving if the school left the neighbourhood” Stated they would consider moving from the community.

After the presentation of survey results, the ARC representative Evelyne Power Reid presented the big picture on possibilities.
