Dear editor,

Kudos to Rothwell Heights resident Bruce Cappon, who has noted that the compromise location of Lower Duck Island has been promoted without the interests of inhabitants in Beacon Hill and Rothwell Heights being considered.

Mr. Cappon quite rightly points out that the push by Kettle Island opponents to move the bridge further east would cause "immense adverse implications" for both the immediate area and the rest of the east end.

Tim Tierney, president of the Beacon Hill North Community Association is right on the mark when he points out the impacts in terms of infrastructure, the environment and safety, making Lower Duck "not really a viable option."
