 Weekly Journal becomes a ‘Star’

The very first edition of the East Ottawa Star – formerly known as the Weekly Journal – has hit the streets.

January 30th 2009

The change in name and format follows on the heels of the Orléans Star’s redesign, which was relaunched on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

The sister newspapers have adopted similar names and the same clean and dynamic look to provide both readers and advertisers with continuity. Residents and business leaders only have to remember the name The Star when they think about their source for community news.

Meanwhile, Beacon Hill North Community Association president Tim Tierney shared his enthusiasm for the change with a comment on www.EastOttawa.ca, noting the East Ottawa Star is “a great paper” that serves his community.
