Dear Beacon Hill North Community Association (BHNCA) residence,

Over the past two weeks we have made much progress as an organization. We are official recognized by the city, have a new website and logo and will be starting an awareness campaign in the next couple of weeks. The momentum and has been great, and I thank you, but we need your help to keep it going.

Please email your friends and neighbours and get them to sign-up to the BHNCA email list on the http://www.bhnca.com/ website.

COLONEL BY AND THE ARC PROCESS

Just a reminder, the Accommodation Review Committee meeting is to be held Tuesday November 4th and Rideau High School running from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Public may attend to listen to the process, but will not be invited to speak until further in the process but it is important to show that you care by attending.

Please note: It is very important to ensure that you sign in at the door as "Beacon Hill North Community Association" as the community organization. Showing the community cares is a big factor in our success in keeping Colonel By open.

INTERPROVINCIAL BRIDGE

With the interprovincial bridge going to become an issue in the near future, the BHNCA is assembling a sub-committee to study the issue based on the data. Please check the http://www.bhnca.com/ under interprovincial bridges for up-to-date information.

UPCOMING COMMUNITY EVENTS

The BHNCA executive is also looking at some community events in the upcoming year. Some of the community events you can expect in the New Year include:

BHNCA Canada Day celebrations

THE BUSINESS DIRECTORY

I would like to highlight a new feature on the website called "Business Directory". If you have a local business that you are looking to promote within the community, click here to add your business in for free.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

This week is crime prevention week; I have spoken with Constable Wayne Wilson and will be meeting with him next week to discuss improvements to our community. There will be a new section on BHNCA.com called Neighbourhood watch under "In the community".

There will also be a meeting that is open to the public concerning Neighbourhood Watch and Crime prevention. This meeting will take place on November 20th at 7:00pm at the BLACKBURN HAMLET Community center.
